Remember when John McCain boldly stated, “The Senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin”? It’s a stark reminder of the troubling alignment between the GOP and Putin’s Russia. The individuals proudly sporting “I’d rather be Russian than a Democrat” shirts since 2018 belong to the very party that seems to prioritize Putin over American values. The Helsinki summit, where former President Trump seemed to believe Putin over his own country’s intelligence services, further emphasized this disturbing trend.
