Chad coup attempt underway; military heads towards the presidential headquarters

As the President of Chad, the news of a coup attempt underway, with the military heading towards the presidential headquarters, hits hard. It feels like a déjà vu moment following the events of 2021 when the military seized power after my predecessor and father, Idriss Deby, passed away in combat. The military then installed me as the new leader, continuing a legacy of non-democratic transitions of power that have plagued our country for decades.
