Growing up, politics was never a topic that was discussed openly in my household. My parents kept their voting choices close to the chest, and it was always a mystery to us kids who they supported during election season. However, a recent conversation with my elderly mother shed light on a whole new perspective regarding the secrecy of the voting booth. She revealed how she used to vote against my father’s wishes secretly, in an act of defiance to cancel out his vote. This confession got me thinking about the current political climate and the question that seems to be causing quite a stir this election cycle: “Can my husband find out who I am voting for?”… Continue reading
Starbucks fires CEO Laxman Narasimhan. It appears that the 62% profit margin on those pricey coffee drinks wasn’t enough to keep him in the top spot. The decision to replace him with Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol has definitely raised some eyebrows. As a former Starbucks employee, I understand the frustration of customers feeling ripped off by the high prices and skimpy portions. The whole charm of Starbucks used to be its social environment, but now most stores are just a drive-through experience. The new interiors are bland and uninviting, lacking the atmosphere that justified the premium prices in the past.
It’s no secret that Starbucks has been facing a decline in profits, but is it solely the CEO’s fault?… Continue reading
Trump’s J.D. Vance pick just got even worse. As we see Trump slowing down considerably over the last four years, struggling to campaign vigorously, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that his choice of Vance as his running mate may have been a grave mistake. Initially chosen under the assumption of a landslide victory, Vance’s weaknesses are now glaringly obvious as they engage in a real campaign against Harris, who is leading in several polls.
Vance, the self-proclaimed “America’s Hitler” calling never-trumper, now finds himself in the awkward position of trying to attack Kamala as a chameleon. The transparency of the Trump campaign’s playbook is evident in this desperate attempt at redirection and muddying the waters to deflect from Vance’s own shortcomings.… Continue reading
Disney’s recent attempt to invoke its terms of use to prevent a lawsuit concerning a tragic allergy-related death is a blatant display of corporate greed and insensitivity. The fact that they would try to shield themselves from accountability in such a heart-wrenching situation is despicable. The argument that by merely signing up for Disney+ or purchasing theme park tickets, individuals waive their right to a jury trial is preposterous. It is a clear abuse of power and an attempt to evade responsibility.
The case of Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan’s death due to severe allergies at a restaurant in Disney Springs, a third-party operated venue, is indeed tragic, but it is Disney’s response that is truly appalling.… Continue reading
As I read the tragic story of 21-year-old Ta’Kiya Young, a pregnant woman who was fatally shot by an Ohio police officer over a suspected shoplifting incident, my heart aches for the unnecessary loss of two lives. The fact that she was pregnant makes the situation even more heart-wrenching. It is a stark reminder of the fragility of life, especially when it is taken away due to a split-second decision made in high-pressure situations.
The officer involved, Officer Grubb, has now been charged with murder, and the legal proceedings will determine the outcome of this case. The debate on whether he should be charged with double murder due to Young being pregnant is another layer of complexity in this tragic event.… Continue reading
Kamala Harris Takes Nine Point Lead Over Donald Trump In Wisconsin Poll
Say it with me, America. The news of Kamala Harris taking a nine-point lead over Donald Trump in a recent Wisconsin poll is like music to my ears. As someone who has been anxiously watching the political climate in our country, this update brings a sense of relief and hope for a better future. The thought of Harris leading the charge against Trump in a significant swing state like Wisconsin is truly empowering.
I can’t help but chuckle at the idea of Trump possibly brushing off this lead as a typo or misunderstanding.… Continue reading
I can’t help but shake my head in disbelief at the latest antics of our former president, Donald Trump. Despite the calls from his own party to cease the personal attacks against Kamala Harris, he boldly proclaims that he is ‘entitled’ to continue his crude behavior. It’s almost comical how Trump is like that 5th-grade bully who never learned basic decency or respect for others. But deep down, it’s actually quite concerning to witness a man of his age and stature stoop to such levels.
Trump’s refusal to focus on actual policy and his reliance on personal insults as a campaign strategy highlights a deeper issue with his character.… Continue reading
I can’t help but cringe at the thought of being on a flight where lice are spotted in someone’s hair. The idea of these little insects crawling around is enough to make anyone’s skin crawl. It makes me wonder, how severe must the infestation have been for it to be noticeable to the flight attendants and other passengers? Did the woman herself not realize she had lice? It’s hard to fathom how something like that could go unnoticed.
As a hairstylist, I know firsthand that lice outbreaks can be wild. It’s essential to teach kids not to share hairbrushes, helmets, or even pillows to prevent the spread of these pesky critters.… Continue reading
As I sit and reflect on the recent news of Tina Peters being found guilty on seven charges related to her involvement in post-2020 election conspiracy theories, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions. It’s disheartening to see someone in a position of authority abuse their power and manipulate the democratic process for their own gain. The fact that Peters helped facilitate unauthorized access to voting equipment during a software update, leading to sensitive information being posted online to undermine the election system, is deeply troubling.
It’s ironic, isn’t it, that the very individuals who cry foul and claim election interference often turn out to be the ones engaging in fraudulent activities themselves?… Continue reading
I can’t help but shake my head at the latest antics of Donald Trump, the ex-president who seems to be on a never-ending quest to outdo himself in terms of absurdity. His recent claims that Kamala Harris used artificial intelligence to “fake” her crowd sizes are nothing short of bizarre. The sheer audacity of accusing someone of such a ridiculous act, especially when he himself has a history of inflating his own crowd sizes, is truly mind-boggling.
It’s ironic that Trump is now suddenly demanding truth and transparency about crowd sizes, when he has a track record of exaggerating his own numbers.… Continue reading
