National Parks are truly the jewels of our nation, places of natural beauty and wonder that we can all be proud of. So, when I heard that US national parks are receiving a record-high gift of $100 million from the Lilly Endowment, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief and gratitude. It’s heartening to see such a generous donation being made to preserve these vital pieces of our country’s heritage.
The National Parks Foundation serves as a safety net for our nation’s estate, ensuring that even in the face of catastrophe, our parks will continue to be protected and maintained.… Continue reading
This story that has come to light about a worker being left stranded on a Colorado mountain by their colleagues during an office retreat is beyond belief. The fact that 14 coworkers allegedly abandoned one of their own on a 14,230-foot mountain is shocking, to say the least. The individual, whose name and company were not disclosed, had to be rescued after being left to complete his final summit push alone, according to Chaffee County Search and Rescue.
Imagine the fear and isolation this person must have felt, being left alone overnight in bad weather conditions at such a high elevation.… Continue reading
I cannot fathom the audacity and shamelessness that Donald Trump exhibits in his never-ending grift schemes. From questionable steaks to dubious university ventures, Trump’s history of hawking subpar products under his brand is a well-documented tale of deception and manipulation. Now, as he pushes ‘digital trading cards’ emblazoned with his face, one can’t help but marvel at the depths to which this man will stoop to extract money from his loyal followers. The fact that people continue to fall for his schemes is a testament to the blind loyalty that some individuals harbor, treating his name as a synonym for quality when, in reality, it’s just another money-making opportunity for him.… Continue reading
I am amazed by the latest ratings comparison between the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Night No. 2. The numbers speak volumes, with the DNC crushing the RNC by an impressive 39 percent. It seems that the DNC really knows how to draw in viewers and keep them engaged, given the significant margin by which they outperformed the RNC.
However, it is interesting to note that while the DNC is dominating in overall ratings, the struggle to attract young voters is evident. The numbers show a decline in viewership among the 18-34 age group compared to previous years.… Continue reading
Jesse Watters, the Fox News host, recently came under fire for his unsavory comments about Vice President Kamala Harris. The remarks he made were not only inappropriate and misogynistic but also disparaging to our military. It’s disheartening to see someone in such a prominent position espousing views that are not only offensive but also damaging.
Watters’ comments were not only disrespectful but also completely baseless. To insinuate that generals would “have their way” with Vice President Harris in a non-sexual manner is not only vulgar but also shows a lack of respect for the office she holds. His attempt to downplay the comment as “politically brilliant” is absurd and only serves to highlight the toxic culture that exists at Fox News.… Continue reading
Running into North Korea is not a decision that any sane person would make. The fact that Private Travis King, a U.S. Army soldier, thought crossing the border into one of the most totalitarian and oppressive regimes in the world was a better option than facing his charges in the U.S. is mind-boggling. This act of desertion not only endangered his own life but also put strain on diplomatic relations between the two countries. It’s baffling to think that someone would willingly choose to run into a country like North Korea, known for its human rights abuses and extreme propaganda.
The details surrounding King’s case only add to the incredulity of his actions.… Continue reading
My heart breaks for the family of the female student at Rice University who was tragically killed in her dorm room on the first day of classes. It is a devastating situation that highlights the harsh reality of gender-based violence that is far too prevalent in our society. Flashbacks to a similar incident of stalking and murder on a college campus bring forth feelings of fear and vulnerability that many young women face.
The thought of simply going about your day, attending classes, and studying, only to be confronted with such senseless violence is truly terrifying. The fact that the perpetrator was someone she knew, someone she trusted to some extent, makes the situation even more chilling.… Continue reading
When I first heard about the Special Counsel filing a reworked indictment against Donald Trump in the January 6th case, I wasn’t surprised, but I was definitely intrigued. The fact that the indictment has been updated in light of the Supreme Court ruling that presidents have immunity for official duties is a clear indication that this case is far from over. The new indictment highlights that Trump had no official responsibilities related to the certification process but had a personal interest in being named the winner of the election, a crucial distinction that sets the stage for a more focused legal battle.… Continue reading
As I sit down to write about how Trump was allowed to use Arlington National Cemetery as a campaign prop, my blood boils with anger and frustration. The fact that such a dishonorable and disrespectful individual was given access to one of the most sacred places in America leaves me shaking my head in disbelief.
The reason Trump was able to use Arlington National Cemetery as a backdrop for his political grandstanding is simple: norms aren’t laws. The only thing that stopped previous Presidents from doing the same was their sense of honor and dignity – two qualities that Trump sorely lacks.… Continue reading
As a Black Trump supporter, I have faced my fair share of criticism and backlash for my political beliefs. But nothing could have prepared me for the blatant racism and disrespect I experienced while canvassing for a right-wing organization. Being called a ‘slave’ by individuals within the very group I was trying to support was not only shocking but deeply hurtful.
It is disheartening to realize that despite my loyalty and efforts to align myself with a specific political ideology, I am still viewed as inferior and unworthy of respect by some within that same group. The incident made me question my decision to support individuals who clearly do not see me as an equal, let alone a valued member of their movement.… Continue reading
