As a trial attorney myself, I can’t help but cringe at the behavior of Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, during the E. Jean Carroll trial. It’s truly astonishing to witness her lack of professionalism and disregard for proper courtroom etiquette. It’s no wonder that the judge threatened her with jail time for continually contesting his rulings.
What strikes me the most about Habba is her apparent lack of qualifications. It’s clear that her only credential is her law license and her physical attractiveness, which seems to be the main reason Trump hired her in the first place. The After School Satan Club is making its return to Jane Addams Elementary School, much to the chagrin of some Christians. This club, offered as a nonreligious alternative to other religious clubs, is a testament to the importance of religious freedom in our society. It is a direct response to attempts by Christians to establish their clubs in elementary schools, proving that either religion should be kept out of schools altogether or all religions should have the opportunity to be represented.

Russians are queuing up to support Putin’s opponent in the presidential election race, but is this a genuine display of democracy or merely a facade? As I observe the scene, it’s hard not to question the authenticity of this opposition figure, Nadezhdin. He appears on talk shows, supposedly representing the anti-war voice, but is often attacked and belittled by other guests and presenters. It’s as if he is being used as a tool of state propaganda – a way to create the illusion of plurality in Russia’s supposed democracy.

Ukraine says corrupt officials stole $40 million meant to buy arms for the war with Russia. The news comes as a shocking revelation, but sadly, not a surprising one. Joe Biden is arming Greece so that Greece can arm Ukraine, and pro-Russia Republicans can’t stop him. This move is made possible through the “excess defense articles” law, which allows the US to declare surplus military systems and give them away to other countries. Greece will receive old US military equipment for free, and in return, they will provide Ukraine with their old equipment.
I can almost hear the steam whistling out of Republicans’ ears and noses as they react to this news. It’s a clever strategy to circumvent their opposition and ensure aid reaches Ukraine. It’s about time. The sooner Hamas is gone, the better off everyone is. I’m glad to see that more and more people are waking up to that reality. While we can’t expect Hamas to be completely eradicated, it seems that its days as a serious organization are numbered at this point. And that’s a step in the right direction.

As I sit here reading through the latest revelations about the fossil fuel industry’s knowledge of climate change as early as 1954, I can’t help but feel a mix of anger, frustration, and disappointment. It’s shocking to think that these companies were aware of the dangers of their products for decades and yet chose to hide this information. But perhaps what is even more disturbing is that nothing has been done about it.
