Surprised because I didn’t realize that this was still necessary in today’s society, and relieved because it finally addresses a historic wrong that has plagued the lives of so many individuals. The mass clemency that Biden will be granting to these veterans is a step in the right direction, finally overturning a discriminatory policy that forced around 100,000 people out of the military during the Cold War era.
