Judge in Trump’s Jan. 6 case says it won’t be delayed by upcoming presidential election

As Judge Tanya Chutkan wisely stated, the electoral schedule is not a factor to consider when it comes to moving forward with criminal cases. The law should be applied equally to all, regardless of any impending elections or political agendas. It is refreshing to see a judge prioritize the rule of law over partisan interests and take a stand against maneuvers to delay justice for political gain.

The fact that Trump’s attorney, John Lauro, is attempting to use the impending presidential election as an excuse to delay the case is ludicrous. It is unfair to allow someone to manipulate the legal system for their convenience, especially when they are facing serious allegations of subverting election results.… Continue reading

Column: Trump and Vance are dead wrong — economists unanimously agree that U.S. tariffs are a tax on American consumers

I can’t wrap my head around how anyone could see tariffs as anything but a tax on American consumers. It’s common sense. When prices go up due to tariffs, it’s the American people who end up paying the difference. Companies like Walmart or Publix will simply raise their prices to maintain their profit margins, and who has to foot the bill? The middle and lower class citizens who are already struggling to make ends meet.

The fact that Trump and Vance are pushing this narrative that tariffs are somehow good for the economy is laughable. It’s not a legitimate policy idea up for debate among economists.… Continue reading

No arrest for Putin as he arrives in Mongolia

No arrest for Putin as he arrives in Mongolia, and the reactions are not the least bit surprising. Mongolia finds itself in a unique position, sandwiched between two major world powers, Russia and China. The idea of arresting the leader of either of these countries is not only improbable but would also bring severe consequences for the nation. Last year, Russia’s power play with cutting off essential supplies to Mongolia highlighted the level of control it exerts over the country, especially in the energy sector.

The reality is that Mongolia’s geopolitical positioning leaves it with little room to challenge or antagonize either of its powerful neighbors.… Continue reading

Goldman Sachs predicts stronger GDP and job growth if Democrats sweep White House and Congress

Goldman Sachs predicts a brighter economic future if Democrats sweep the White House and Congress. This news comes as no surprise, considering historical data that clearly demonstrates the economic success under Democratic leadership. The potential for stronger GDP growth and job creation is a promising prospect if Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrats secure control of both chambers of Congress.

The economic implications of a Republican victory, especially under the leadership of Donald Trump, have been cautioned against by Goldman Sachs economists. The impact of tariff imposition and tighter immigration policies would outweigh any potential growth from maintaining tax cuts.… Continue reading

‘She’s taking Republicans away from Trump’: Pollster reveals shocking new data for Harris

As an individual who has experienced a significant shift in political preferences over the years, I can resonate with the sentiment shared by many who have traditionally identified as Republicans. The recent revelations that Vice President Kamala Harris is drawing support away from former President Donald Trump among Republican voters is indeed intriguing and reflective of a larger trend in American politics.

The personal anecdotes of former Republican voters turning away from Trump due to his divisive rhetoric, handling of the pandemic, and overall disregard for key issues resonate with me on a deep level. The fact that individuals who have typically aligned with the Republican Party are now considering supporting Harris in the upcoming elections speaks volumes about the current political landscape and the disillusionment felt by many towards Trump and his fervent followers.… Continue reading

US F-22, F-35, B-2 Bomber’s Sensitive Data Leaked To China, Russia & Iran

The recent news about sensitive data from US F-22, F-35, and B-2 Bomber programs being leaked to China, Russia, and Iran is deeply concerning on many levels. The fact that these breaches occurred as RTX employees traveled to these countries is alarming, to say the least. It raises serious questions about the protection of classified information and the potential implications for national security.

The casual nature with which some commentators seem to view these leaks is baffling. The idea that leaked information about these advanced military technologies may not be damaging because they are “old” or the assumption that China, Russia, or Iran may not be able to effectively replicate them is dangerously naive.… Continue reading

Starlink tells Brazil regulator it will not comply with X suspension

It seems like Starlink is not willing to comply with the suspension order from Brazilian regulators. This bold move could potentially lead to losing their business license in Brazil. The Defense Ministry of Brazil has highlighted the importance of Starlink for military operations and strategic readiness across the nation, which adds another layer of complexity to this situation.

Elon Musk’s defiance towards the Brazilian regulators may come across as a risky decision. Every other tech giant such as Google, Facebook, and Apple must comply with the laws of the countries they operate in, so why should Musk and Starlink be an exception?… Continue reading

Two dead and three injured after man drives his car through restaurant patio in Minnesota

It’s devastating to hear about the tragic incident that unfolded in Minnesota, where two people lost their lives and three others were injured after a man drove his car through a restaurant patio. As a member of the community and someone who is directly impacted by this horrific event, it’s difficult to come to terms with such senseless loss of life.

The fact that the driver, a 56-year-old man, has a history of DUIs is appalling. It raises serious questions about why someone with multiple DUI convictions was still allowed to operate a vehicle. In my opinion, the consequences for driving under the influence should be much stricter.… Continue reading

All-black outfits, hoodies, Crocs, cell phones and mirrors. Some students are returning to school with new bans in effect

As a student who loves expressing themselves through their wardrobe, the recent bans on all-black clothing, hoodies, Crocs, and even mirrors at some schools are absolutely mind-boggling to me. The reasoning behind banning all-black outfits due to associations with mental health issues like depression is beyond ridiculous. How does the color of someone’s clothing reflect their mental state? It’s a clear case of missing the mark and failing to address the real issues at hand.

I vividly remember the absurd dress codes enforced at my high school, where the focus was on insignificant details like whether or not our shirts were tucked in or if our pants reached a certain length.… Continue reading

Man arrested in fatal shooting of title-winning college gymnast in Wisconsin

The tragic news of a title-winning college gymnast being fatally shot in Wisconsin has left me in shock and deep sorrow. The fact that this is not an isolated incident and that similar incidents have occurred in the past week is incredibly alarming. The details that have emerged so far only hint at the horror of the situation – a 23-year-old man who knew the victim, a fatal altercation, and the devastating loss of a young life.

It is chilling to think about the implications of weak and insecure individuals owning guns. The fact that these individuals resort to such extreme measures in moments of conflict or rejection is beyond comprehension.… Continue reading
