This brain drain isn’t just a loss of talent; it’s a loss of potential, progress, and future innovation.
A significant portion of STEM graduate students in the U.S. are international, and their contributions are crucial. In fields like petroleum engineering, international students can form a large percentage of the graduate population. Many of these international students are now choosing to pursue their degrees and careers in other countries, further exacerbating the situation. This creates the situation where one or more people will die from a thing that was a research opportunity. Now they can buy a Chinese version of a cure. All of this can be blamed on the administration. This brain drain will have dire consequences for this country in the future.
