The AMAZING thing about these MAGA types of trash, they LOVE to trash on California but when some things get tough or during holidays, they come CRAWLING to the state. Then there’s the inevitable commentary about California. The state is often painted as a “godless liberal shithole” by conservatives. But when it comes to vacations or, well, escaping a Texas winter storm, California seems to become a rather appealing destination. It’s a recurring theme: the constant bashing of California, followed by a pilgrimage there when things get tough. The hypocrisy is, to put it mildly, glaring.
For many of the folks, they have a new campaign slogan for whoever runs against him. “He abandoned us, we abandon him” with pictures of him traveling during climate crises. The argument is this: real leaders, the kind who actually lead, would be right there, in the trenches with their constituents. They’d be working to assess the damage, provide support, and demonstrate a commitment to helping people. Instead, it seems we’re getting a masterclass in how to disappear when the going gets tough.
