These individuals, empowered by platforms like X and figures such as Elon Musk, disseminate fact-free narratives and amplify sensationalized content, often targeting liberal protests or immigrant groups. This environment allows for the spread of lies and the erosion of journalistic integrity, as seen in the Good case, where these influencers attempted to rewrite the circumstances of the shooting, and are increasingly incentivized to push false narratives for clout and financial gain. Consequently, these actions contribute to a toxic media landscape where truth is distorted, and accountability for harmful acts, such as Good’s death, is undermined.

The core of this unsettling issue starts with the observation that a potential future administration seems to be fueled by an “online-first” mentality. It’s an administration seemingly built on the bedrock of brain-rotted Twitter interactions, catering to a niche audience of deeply entrenched internet users. This is a stark contrast to previous administrations, which, while flawed, often maintained a degree of normalcy and professional distance. The current dynamic presents a concerning picture where every action, every policy, seems to be crafted with the primary goal of generating engagement and validating a specific, often extreme, online demographic.
The administration seems driven by an insular group of individuals, seemingly more interested in feeding their online echo chamber than in developing coherent strategies or executing meaningful policy. Instead of focusing on governing, their actions appear to be influencer-driven, prioritizing “cool” actions designed to go viral within their target audience. This behavior manifests in various areas, including law enforcement, which are deployed for photo opportunities rather than any tangible results.
The rise of MAGA content creators represents a significant part of this equation. These individuals, often perceived as “mentally defective goons,” have become popular figures within the MAGA landscape, capitalizing on the appetite for “good content” over effective governance. These creators, many of whom are praised and pardoned for their illegal actions, operate within the system by design, promoting a distorted reality that fuels extremist ideologies and, potentially, violent actions.
The events in Minneapolis, and similar incidents, cannot be viewed in isolation. They are, potentially, a consequence of the environment cultivated by these content creators. The constant stream of divisive and inflammatory content creates an atmosphere where violence is either condoned, or normalized, and where attacks against perceived enemies are encouraged. The line between online rhetoric and real-world consequences becomes increasingly blurred.
The focus on action, without intellectual reflection, also plays a crucial role. This “cult of action for action’s sake” is characteristic of the fascist ideology, and it’s a tactic the administration has seemingly adopted to further their goals. This can lead to a state of confusion and fear, further exacerbated by the influence of social media. The data-driven manipulation of user behavior, using tools like Cambridge Analytica, seems to have created the kind of environment where these extremist ideas can take root.
It is worth noting that the long-term plans of these groups may not be obvious, but they do exist. Some envision a techno-feudalist future, while others dream of a white nationalist empire. These groups are working towards achieving these goals, utilizing the tools of social media and online propaganda.
The influence of these influencers should not be underestimated. Their reach, particularly within the specific online communities, can be substantial. The constant stream of extremist content, targeted towards specific demographics, has the potential to radicalize individuals and lead to harmful behavior.
The idea that this administration is simply about personal profit is a compelling one. The exploitation of various groups, whether rich or poor, or the nation itself, appears to be the underlying objective.
