Corporate executives and business leaders, the second group, remain silent due to fear of retribution or the desire for tax cuts, as evidenced by their financial support for Trump. Right-wing media outlets, the third group, utilize a combination of cynicism and genuine ideological opposition to liberalism to promote Trump and profit from his presidency. Finally, the MAGA faithful, the last group, includes both soft supporters, with varied motivations, and the passionate “red-hots.” These diverse motivations highlight the complex dynamics of support for Trump.

We’re nearing the day when ICE thugs just open fire on crowds – the United States is now closer to Assad’s Syria than to anything we recognize as fitting within the understood norms of American history. It’s a chilling thought, but the pieces seem to be falling into place. The escalating rhetoric, the dehumanization of specific groups, the increasing militarization of law enforcement – it all points in a dangerous direction. Some might be surprised, but the signs have been there, growing louder and more insistent with each passing day. It’s hard to ignore the echoes of past atrocities and regimes that have employed violence to maintain power. The question isn’t *if* it will happen, but *when*, and what will happen *after*.
The desire for a certain kind of theocratic rule, a complete rejection of the separation of church and state, is at odds with the very foundations of American ideals. It’s a vision fueled by religiously sanctioned violence, and it’s deeply un-American. The trajectory we’re on seems to be heading there, and while some may still deny it, the next logical step appears to be inevitable. It’s a time for those in the streets to be careful, because when they finally cross the line it won’t be pretty.
It is easy to see the parallels to earlier instances of state violence against protestors in America, such as the civil rights marches or the school integration protests. Many appear oblivious to the historical context of the Boston Massacre. The fear is palpable, and as a result, many are taking up their right to bear arms. If you’re uncomfortable talking about armed resistance when ICE is documented kidnapping, raping, and killing US citizens, you might as well lay down now, because it is over.
A mass casualty event is what will be needed to galvanize resistance against the Trump Regime. First they start shootings en masse, then they start the killing camps. We’ve seen this all before but some people still thought that it’s a great idea to give the power to the extreme right. We are approaching Pol Pot’s purges. If you’re liberal, college-educated, lgbtq, a minority, or simply know how to read, expect to be a target. Imagine reading this headline a year ago. We’d all have conniptions. Times are tense for sure but this headline is bait.
There’s a fear that if ICE starts shooting indiscriminately, the backlash will be massive, potentially sparking a full-fledged revolution. Even though there are echoes of American history to draw on for comparison, the reality that we are in a messed up state cannot be ignored. The potential for the government to step outside of the law and use violence is ever-present. Our government should feel safe to operate within the confines of the law, and absolutely terrified to step outside of them.
And we must remember our history, as we have had a history of government officials shooting or bombing people of color. The concern now is that liberals will become the undesirables. The situation demands urgent attention, and the potential for a “Boston Massacre” type of event looms.
The GOP needs to clean house. Their party is getting creepier by the day. This man is simply an evil human. The Republicans need to clean house. The GOP knew it since his first term and nominated him as a reflection of their values. The situation demands urgent attention, and the potential for a “Boston Massacre” type of event looms.
