Danish PM Warns of NATO’s End Should Trump Invade Greenland

The situation with Greenland is undeniably tense. It feels like there are two major players, Trump and Putin, who seem to have a vested interest in seeing the end of NATO. The comments made, and the implications of certain actions, really do paint a concerning picture. Many seem to agree that Trump’s actions often inadvertently benefit Russia, and the suggestion that he openly desired the end of NATO feels alarmingly deliberate. It’s almost as if ending the alliance is a strategic directive given to Trump.

The ramifications of a potential American invasion of Greenland would be astronomical, far exceeding any of Trump’s previous actions in places like South America. Greenland, a territory of Denmark, is a stable democracy with strong ties to both the EU and NATO. While the US could probably seize it quickly, the global consequences would be devastating. The US could find itself isolated, its relationships with key allies like Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, severely damaged. In a world shifting towards a multi-polar order, with rising powers like China and India, such isolation would be crippling. Allies may not offer assistance when the US needs it the most, leading to a situation where “America First” translates to “America Alone.”

The potential impact on Canada is also significant. Greenland’s strategic location would impact Canada’s Atlantic trade routes and military access to and from Europe. Historically, during World War II, Britain recognized the strategic importance of Iceland, occupying it before handing control over to the US. This precedent underscores the geopolitical significance of the region, making it clear how seriously the US and other major powers view it.

This whole scenario raises some truly disquieting questions. The world could transform dramatically, for better or worse, with this pivotal moment in history. One feels the mounting pressure of these headlines, almost surreal. Is there anyone in a position of power actively trying to avoid global conflict? It is understandable that some would feel mortified when making mistakes. Yet, the actions of certain individuals continue to astound, raising questions about the course we are following. The presence of American military bases on European soil, along with the recent developments, pose increasing security risks and therefore expelling them should be considered. The US taking Greenland would be disastrous on a variety of levels. It would kill NATO and create hostility within the EU. The potential for economic fallout, the loss of markets, and the disruption of intellectual property rights, could have a devastating effect on the US economy. It’s hard not to view this as anything other than a reckless move, with consequences that are too enormous to fully comprehend.

While America could easily secure Greenland militarily, the diplomatic and economic repercussions could be disastrous. The US’s allies could start to re-evaluate their financial relationship with the US, and allies dumping US bonds would make the US bankrupt overnight, triggering a devastating financial crisis. The economic fallout would cripple the US economy, possibly more than anything ever experienced before.

The hope is that a military move on Greenland won’t happen, because of the high likelihood of such ruinous results. Unfortunately, it’s also reasonable to be concerned that the Greenland issue is being used to distract from other more serious concerns. If Trump were to take Greenland, it would cross a “red line” for other Western nations. America would become an enemy nation. To be clear, the invasion of Greenland would not go without a response, and could trigger the beginning of the end of the US’s place in the world.

It is disheartening to see the current state of affairs, the lost potential and the harm caused. The US has lost a great deal over the past decade. The invasion of a peaceful ally like Greenland would trigger a global response. We see the echoes of the past, and understand that our country will be the bad guy.

It is hard to believe that many people either don’t care, or they are cheering it on. If America invades Greenland, Europe would likely form its own alliance. There is a desire to protect democracy by establishing a new alliance without the US. The Danish PM should instead warn of Trump’s downfall should Greenland be invaded. He is doing what Putin wants, which is the end of NATO.

It’s natural to question how anyone could be okay with this. The U.S. is aware of the potential for conflict and is preparing. Securing energy resources, like Venezuela and Canada, may be the opening move. Instead of troops, Europe and China may respond with economic pressure. Dumping US treasuries, and preventing the supply of technology like ASML lithography machines, could cripple American manufacturing. This could lead to hyperinflation and a move to a petro-yuan.

This could lead to a “Fortress America,” isolated, totalitarian, and cut off from global tech, finance, and trade. Europe might make deals with Russia and China. We are seeing Russia destabilize the US, which could lead to the dismantling of NATO. It is a plan to destabilize and divide, and the end result could be a collapse of America.

Trump is acting more and more like Hitler. This may be exactly what Putin wants. Some will fight against such a rise. Europe may form its own alliance. It’s difficult to negotiate from a position of weakness, and it is obvious.

It is important to understand that if we fail to defend our interests, someone else will take them. European naivete about the world is almost laughable. Many trusted the US, more than their own neighbors. Destroying NATO is the goal. Putin is goading Trump. Canada, and the other allies, are quietly establishing trade and military deals to reduce their dependence on the US. There is a global effort to create a more stable system, bypassing US control. In the short term, the US can invade, but in the long term, holding on to that control would be very damaging.

The oligarchy of Tech now owns our land and everything in it. Nation states are subservient to Tech Oligarchs. You are no longer free. While there may be an end of NATO, a huge alliance of countries will remain. Trump’s “evil henchmen” won’t go after Greenland. Americans will revolt, and Americans may be denied entry to the EU. This may be what Putin wants, and he’s likely enjoying the spectacle. There is a US base on Greenland, and it should be replaced by a “Coalition of the willing” of EU country troops.

Warnings will be useless. This is playing out like “1984.” Putin’s the puppet master. Trump is just following orders.
