The fact that Russia seems to largely agree with the direction the US is heading is, let’s face it, a massive red flag. It’s hard not to feel a chill when you consider the implications of such alignment. It almost feels like the US is adopting, or at the very least, accommodating, Russia’s strategic goals.
This situation presents a stark contrast to what we’ve come to expect from US foreign policy. The traditional alliances, particularly with European nations, seem to be shifting. The US has historically leaned on these relationships, but now, there’s a sense that these long-standing partners are being treated with something akin to hostility. This is bound to create uncertainty and, potentially, fractures within established geopolitical structures. It’s as though there’s a new, unsettling alignment emerging.
Considering the historical context, the European leaders seem to be taking a wait-and-see approach. They appear to be hoping for a change in leadership in the US, perhaps expecting a return to a more familiar and cooperative relationship.
