The whole situation with the partial release of the Epstein files by the Trump DOJ – well, it’s being widely called “An Absolute Joke,” and honestly, it’s hard to disagree. Having seen what’s been put out, especially the extent of the redactions, it’s clear this isn’t about transparency or justice; it’s about protection. And let’s be honest, we all saw this coming, right?
This isn’t just about a few sensitive details being covered up. We’re talking about documents so heavily redacted they’re essentially useless. I mean, we’re talking about pages that are entirely blacked out, with only the Bates numbers visible. As someone who’s worked with classified documents, this is beyond anything I’ve ever witnessed. It’s not just a matter of concealing information; it’s a deliberate, almost insulting, act. It’s like they’re saying, “We’re going to give you something, but it’s going to be nothing of substance.”
The fact that they didn’t even bother to make the documents searchable or provide metadata is just another layer of the farce. It’s like they’re going out of their way to make it difficult to glean anything useful from these files. And the explanations for the redactions, as legally required, are probably going to be as flimsy as the documents themselves. What’s even more infuriating is that this could have been done in seconds with a simple “repeat mark across pages” feature in the software. It’s almost as if they didn’t even read the documents before deciding to redact everything.
Considering all the build-up, the promises to release the files, and the legal requirements to do so, this outcome is a slap in the face. Remember when Trump himself campaigned on releasing these files? And then the story changed, time and again. The House was put on recess to avoid questions. Now the complete blacked out pages are released, except, of course, for the Democrats. It’s almost as if they are actively flaunting their impunity. This just ensures that the story will keep running and running.
There is a whole list of story changes and “coincidences” that have led us here. Trump initially said he would release the files, then claimed they didn’t exist, then said they were a deep state hoax. And the FBI has been flagging mentions of Trump in any correspondence. Meanwhile, a lot of those involved are getting closer and closer to being released. They claimed the victims’ privacy was the issue, yet they are still blacking out the names of the co-conspirators. It’s a series of flip-flops, finger-pointing, and delaying tactics. The end result is that approximately 90% of the files are fully redacted.
And the content that *is* visible? It’s damning. Messages referring to “a female for him,” names of co-conspirators redacted, and notes suggesting Epstein was looking for underage girls. It’s difficult to see this as anything other than a blatant attempt to cover up for powerful individuals, potentially including Donald Trump. What’s worse, those who defend him or his administration. It’s a sad state of affairs when the pursuit of power seemingly trumps all other considerations.
This isn’t just about the redactions; it’s about what the redactions conceal. And it’s hard to believe that this isn’t going to backfire spectacularly. It just guarantees this story will continue to be covered. They are all reprehensible people who want victory at any cost. And so, it’s an insult to the victims, the American people, and anyone who believes in justice. It’s a message that the powerful are above the law, and they will do whatever it takes to stay that way.
The real question is, who will hold these people accountable? What will it take to get the full story out there? We’re left wondering if there is any entity that can stop them and punish them. Someone needs to be the hero, someone like Mike Gravel, and release the unredacted files. The actual Justice Department is actively breaking the law to protect a pedophile sex trafficking cabal. The United States government is disappearing US citizens and immigrants to death centers where they let them starve and suffer to death. This is not just a Catholic Church type scandal; it is the entire GOP, many members of the Democratic party, high-ranking officials in the DOD, ICE, FBI, DOJ, OPM, what’s left of the WH, and many more.
It’s tempting to throw up our hands and assume that all of those redacted names belong to Trump. But, in the end, it’s just another example of how the powerful can manipulate the system to their advantage. We can only hope that, eventually, the full truth will come out, and those responsible will face justice.
