The agency’s actions, including dismantling key programs and mass layoffs, have led to global repercussions, particularly in humanitarian aid, where funding cuts have harmed vital services and potentially led to increased deaths. We still don’t really know what Elon Musk’s Doge actually did, and that’s the frustrating truth. The media seems to dance around it, dropping hints, but never explicitly stating the full picture. It’s like they’re afraid of lawsuits, leaving us to piece together the puzzle.
One thing’s for sure: it was a whirlwind. The story is that this “department of government efficiency” wasn’t exactly what it seemed. While Musk promised transparency and saving trillions, the reality seems far more opaque. Lawsuits are piling up, alleging violations of privacy and transparency laws. The agency’s initial actions, including dismantling the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and illegally firing people, have left a trail of chaos.
It seems pretty clear that the actions had a direct impact on investigations into his companies. It also seems like a lot of data was accessed and stolen. Data on citizens, companies, and industries, including sensitive information on competitors. There’s a strong sentiment that this was a data heist, plain and simple. And possibly much worse.
