Pope Leo Ramps Up His Trump Feud With Order to American Bishops
It’s interesting to see how the media is framing this – calling it a “feud.” It really highlights how far right we’ve gone when the Pope’s stance on immigration seems, well, almost progressive. I mean, he’s just following the core tenets of his faith, something you’d think would be pretty fundamental. It’s a stark contrast, particularly when you consider that many in the religious right actively dislike Catholicism. And it’s pretty wild that some high-profile Trump officials, who are also Catholic, seem to be choosing Trump’s stance over the Pope’s teachings.
The recent actions by Pope Leo mark a significant shift. He seems to be directly confronting the Trump administration’s policies, especially on immigration. Just last week, he even questioned whether those policies aligned with the Catholic Church’s pro-life principles. That triggered a swift backlash, particularly from some conservative Catholics in the US and the White House. It’s almost as if the Pope is reminding people what their religion is supposed to be about – something Trump, who often claims to be a man of faith, seems to be missing.

It’s almost as if some of the people in leadership of Trump’s Christian sect have forgotten that the whole point of the Nativity is about being kind to immigrants. The conservatives are going to lose their minds, because, let’s face it, it is a feud with Satan, not just Trump. And it’s good to see a religious leader standing up to what many would call fascism.
It’s worth noting how much of the Supreme Court and the Trump administration is Catholic. It’s actually a higher percentage than in the general population. This is what makes it a particularly interesting situation. The modern American Catholic population is generally a bit more liberal than its evangelical counterparts. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
