A new investigation has revealed that Russia operates a vast network of over 200 facilities designed to re-educate, Russify, and militarize Ukrainian children. These facilities, located across Russia and occupied Ukrainian territories, include camps, schools, and military bases where children are subjected to patriotic indoctrination, combat drills, and even drone assembly training. The report, by the Humanitarian Research Lab at Yale, highlights the systematic deportation and militarization of children, violating international laws and potentially constituting war crimes. Furthermore, the investigation provides irrefutable evidence that contradicts Russian denials, with a significant number of facilities directly operated by the Russian government and showing signs of expansion.

Russia has a network of 200 camps for ‘brainwashing’ Ukrainian children, and honestly, it’s just appalling that this is happening. It’s hard not to feel incredibly sad for those kids, caught in the middle of something they don’t understand, being groomed, essentially, to be used as tools in a war. It’s truly disheartening to consider that they might be molded into soldiers, potentially forced to fight against their own families and country. The lengths to which someone will go to win is unbelievable.
After all, Russia seems to be running out of manpower for this conflict, and the idea that they’re resorting to this tactic is terrifying. The fear is that Russia won’t want the world to see what these children have endured, so they might try to prevent their return. It’s reminiscent of the Nazi’s tactics during World War II, and it paints a grim picture of what the current Russian state truly represents. Stealing children in this way is, without a doubt, an act of genocide, and yet, it feels like the world isn’t paying enough attention.
This situation is definitely a definition of genocide under UN law, and the fact that it’s not being widely discussed is just infuriating. We’re talking about real genocide here. The whole thing is heartbreaking. It makes you wish that those camps could be liberated and that everyone involved in kidnapping and brainwashing these kids would be held accountable by a war tribunal. The Russian Orthodox Church, under Kirill’s leadership, should be held accountable in this situation as well.
It’s tough to grapple with the fact that the entire planet seems to be in a mess, with every region focused on its own terrible disasters. The world feels more divided than ever, and it’s hard not to feel a sense of helplessness looking at this situation. It’s as if we aren’t even structured well enough for a real-world war; this is breaking down into something truly difficult.
Of course, you can’t ignore that Russia has been a significant factor in why things are the way they are right now. There is a certain amount of sarcasm when you begin to compare this to other times. But, the issue about techno feudalism is that there’s no way out of it. The billionaires own ALL the media. The peasants can be easily brainwashed and turned against each other by toying a little bit with the algorithm.
Thinking back to the past, we were debating the ethics of sheep cloning in the 2000s, and now it’s all brainrot and widespread narcissism. So many people have blurred the lines between social media, reality shows, and real life, turning daily life into a fake, performative mess. It’s not about the music, the place, or the experience; it’s all for the likes and the views.
I saw a documentary a few years ago on homeless kids in Russia, and it was shocking. There was a 13-year-old ringleader of a group with kids as young as 6 or 7. They were ignored by everyone, beaten by adults, and treated horribly. It’s genuinely shocking to see. They were all drinking and doing drugs to make it through the day.
You can’t imagine that this war has made things better, and now that children are being kidnapped, it’s going to be even worse. If it’s anything like the church’s “re-education” of indigenous kids, we won’t find out for much longer. Election interference needs to be treated like an act of war. It’s been illuminating, for sure, to see most of my family and friends choose some side for something they don’t understand. I miss being a kid. It is indeed just as bad.
