Attorney General Pam Bondi has been accused of acting as a loyal supporter of Donald Trump, and also of covering up for both Trump and Jeffrey Epstein since 2011. Bondi allegedly shut down an investigation into Trump University after receiving funds from the Trump Foundation, and also ignored lawsuits filed by Epstein’s victims. Bondi attempted to conceal the cover-up, but once Trump’s name surfaced in the investigation, she became evasive. Her actions have had a boomerang effect, and the majority of Americans now believe Trump was involved in Epstein’s crimes.

When Did Republican Women Get to Be So Vile as These Four? | Pam Bondi, Tulsi Gabbard, Linda McMahon, and Kristi Noem are the new model of right-wing womanhood. God help us.

The question of when Republican women became, or perhaps always were, “vile,” is a complicated one, but these four figures certainly represent a particularly jarring manifestation of this phenomenon. The sentiment is that Republican women haven’t “become” vile, but have perhaps always carried those tendencies, as the list of examples expands to include Karoline Leavitt, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and many more. The common thread is a willingness to act against their own self-interests, and marginalize other women. The church women screaming at black children in the 50s and 60s for daring to attend school, is an example of that. There are certainly “special breeds” of conservative women.

Tulsi Gabbard, as a former Democrat, is viewed by many as a “cultist” who spent a decade feigning progressive ideals while secretly harboring homophobic and anti-Muslim bigoted beliefs. There is no question that women can be vile, and they have been, for a very long time, and it’s not limited to any one political affiliation. Conservative women are viewed by some as performing a role, of continuously striving to prove their worth within their chosen group, by being as vile and cruel as possible, so they can maintain safety and exclude the targets of their cruelty. They aim for the top of the hierarchy, but often end up used as “novelty tools” by men in the conservative sphere, whose ultimate goal is to relegate women to subservient roles. These women fly the flag of conservatism the highest, as if they are aware that their time might be limited, which could be why they thump the Bible the hardest.

The point is, that for many, these women are simply part of the modern Republican voter base, epitomizing a “fuck you, I got mine” mentality. The behavior is nothing new. There’s an abundance of what appears to be internalized misogyny. Many have unhealthy beliefs about gender and how to define both femininity and masculinity. Some seem to romanticize the past, when society kept everyone in their “boxes.” The rise of these women is like the Handmaid’s Tale. They find comfort and safety under patriarchy and authoritarianism. This is the reason why gender and traditionalism play a critical role in the right-wing authoritarian playbook.

There is a sense that the current generation is simply more open about what has always been. People have the ability to capture these expressions of vitriol, through cameras in their pockets. Some examples cited are members of congress who have displayed disturbing behavior. The argument is that they are used, as pawns. Women who are attracted to Trump, or women Trump is attracted to. The point is, these women are not new to the political scene, or the political right. The vile behavior is something that has always been there. They were literally groomed for this…

The individuals in question seem unfit for their roles. Pam Bondi, for example, appears to have a history of disregarding the law and loyalty to political figures over the interests of the American people. Gabbard’s intelligence experience is viewed as lacking. Linda McMahon is seen as unfit for the role of Secretary of Education. Kristi Noem is seen as having used her position improperly.

What’s interesting is that as the party gains power, its anti-feminist ideology takes hold, and they may eventually find themselves facing the same oppression they encourage. This has always been the way and power corrupts. It would seem that the modern Republican Party is simply mirroring the behavior of their leader, Trump. The question becomes, is it the women who are attracted to Trump, or the women Trump is attracted to? It’s as if these women are simply a modern reflection of the long-existing “Karen” archetype. It’s the angry MAGA woman as vicious as Trump himself.
