Following Donald Trump’s directive, Fox News and other MAGA media outlets have largely ceased discussion of Jeffrey Epstein. After the Justice Department released a memo stating there was no credible evidence of Epstein blackmail, many Trump-aligned figures initially expressed discontent. However, after Trump’s statement supporting Pam Bondi and discouraging further discussion of Epstein, prominent figures like Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity, and Greg Gutfeld fell in line, drastically reducing or eliminating mentions of Epstein on their programs. While some outside of Fox News have expressed dissent, the general trend among MAGA commentators has been silence or support for Trump’s stance.

When you consider the intimate relationship between Donald Trump and the conservative media ecosystem, particularly Fox News, the fact that they’d seemingly bury the Epstein story shouldn’t shock anyone. It’s the propaganda arm of the GOP, after all. The very idea of Fox News defying a request from Trump is almost laughable.
The evidence, if you want to call it that, is pretty clear. Remember that image of Trump at the FIFA final, alongside figures like Kristi Noem and Rupert Murdoch? The symbolism is potent. And then you look at the Fox News homepage. Multiple reports mention that it seemingly avoids any substantial coverage of the Epstein files. The focus, instead, is on things like President Biden’s use of an autopen. It’s a classic misdirection play, something the network has become incredibly adept at.
And the files themselves? They’re out there. The verified court documents, the unredacted “black book” with Trump’s name circled, the flight logs, all available online. There are even testimonies and lawsuits that seem to directly implicate Trump in Epstein’s activities. It’s a lot of information, and the details are gruesome. The argument, of course, is that these claims are hoaxes, but there is overwhelming evidence.
You have to consider what’s at stake here: Trump’s political future, and perhaps, the reputation of a major news organization. The stakes could not be higher. There is a very strong argument that this is a classic case of a media outlet prioritizing its own self-preservation and its allegiance to a powerful figure over journalistic integrity. Reuters reports that Trump is directly influencing his allies to downplay their criticisms of the Epstein case, and the backlash is testing Trump’s ability to control the narrative on the right.
The thing is, this isn’t just about Trump. The Epstein case is a hot potato, a scandal with the potential to damage anyone associated with it. Some people believe it’s more than just a political issue, but a reflection of class conflict. Fox News, and the entire conservative media ecosystem, seems to have chosen a side. But the truth is that the internet will never forget. These details can and will outlive any attempts to suppress them.
