Donald Trump can’t escape the long shadow of Jeffrey Epstein.
This whole situation feels like a bad movie, a dark parody of justice. Everything Trump does regarding Epstein raises serious questions. It’s hard not to be suspicious, given the gravity of the allegations and the high stakes involved. The possibility that he was either involved in these crimes himself or is actively protecting those who were is a deeply troubling thought. And this coming from the man who was once the President of the United States. It’s a frightening prospect. He’s been getting away with things for decades, and it’s unsettling how close he seems to be to escaping the consequences of his actions entirely. The phrase “Epstein is the Ghost of Christmas Future” really does seem fitting.
His actions are reminiscent of a children’s story book bully. Some people are even looking at alternative options for their political choices, maybe even modifying any signs, etc. “TRUMP EPSTEIN 2024” is a powerful message, a constant reminder of the connection, placed in locations that cannot be ignored. There’s a clear sense that Trump isn’t trying to distance himself from Epstein, but rather has repeatedly engaged in the behavior and company of Epstein throughout his life. He still hasn’t found those few simple words to erase Epstein from the minds of his supporters, but he will try.
The fact that Trump seems to lack even basic understanding of the Bible, while still claiming divine support, is an interesting contrast. But, for those who support him, this doesn’t matter. His supporters are seemingly willing to believe anything to maintain their worldview. In their minds, Trump can do no wrong, and he will not be held to account for any action, regardless of how offensive. The suggestion that he’s a child rapist, just like his friend Epstein, is a harsh accusation, but one that needs to be addressed.
The playbook seems to be, deny everything, and let the news cycle move on. He could simply say, “I made it all up when I said we had the Epstein files,”. The disturbing truth is that he is the President, and apparently no one is willing to hold him accountable. It’s difficult to imagine a real reckoning ever happening. His base is already moving on to other distractions, which doesn’t make the situation easier for those of us who understand that he’s escaping it perfectly fine. Justice is a rare commodity in cases like this.
Trump himself has admitted that Epstein was one of his closest friends, and that they shared similar tastes in women, especially young women. He attended parties at Epstein’s island and has been associated with Epstein since before his marriage to his third wife. There’s the story that Melania’s nude spread for GQ magazine was filmed on Epstein’s private jet, the infamous Lolita Express. It’s all disturbing, and he’s trying to be the little kid with the crumbs on his face denying he ate the cookies. The thing is, he *can* get away with anything, according to the masses who still support him.
Americans seem to have short attention spans, and the news cycle moves quickly. His worshippers don’t care. We seem to be trapped in a world where the President of the United States was best friends with a convicted pedophile who died under suspicious circumstances. It’s as if the world’s worst crimes were all committed by him. Anyone associated with Trump seems to be tainted with criminality, or is on the verge of being in jail. Trump’s political career has been a mob boss dream come true.
The question of whether Trump is responsible for other deaths also arises, given his associations and past actions. It’s been clear to many for a long time that he is a sleazy, evil person. It is difficult to outrun the past, but Trump is going to try. Unfortunately, it’s apparent that Republicans are willing to protect pedophiles. He is in the files. Now he is trying to say that Obama, Clinton, Biden, and Comey made up the Epstein files. This suggests he knows something is in those files that he doesn’t want to see the light of day.
The fact that his victims also could not escape him is disturbing. The President was the best of friends with the world’s most famous pedophile, and the case is likely to haunt Trump.
