It’s about the erosion of democratic norms, the stacking of the courts, and the dwindling access to fundamental rights. This isn’t just a political disagreement; it’s a fight for the very foundations of a just society.
Pushback against the Republicans is essential, because Trump is only a symptom. The disease is the party that continues to stand by him. This isn’t about simply voting every couple of years; it’s about a sustained, coordinated effort to make support for Trump untenable. A general strike, an organized disruption of the status quo, could be a powerful tool. The current approach is not working. We need to make Trump and his enablers uncomfortable. The Democrats are banking on Trump being so bad that they don’t have to be good, but the courts are stacked.
The urgency of the situation is undeniable. Every day that Democrats hesitate to act, the more likely it becomes that the damage will be long-lasting. We need to focus on pushing back against those who enable Trump, especially the Republicans in Congress and those running government agencies. They are failing their duty to check the President. The fact is that the executive branch is running amok and there are no checks and balances.
The lack of impactful action by the US Government has been a concern for years. We have the means to organize effectively, but we are likely to continue to argue over what is considered acceptable political behavior. This situation has created a breeding ground for division and disaffection. A general strike might be a needed action, since Trump has support from a sizable portion of the population. Protesting the administration alone is not enough; we need to direct our energy toward holding the DNC accountable and pushing for action.
The need for a strong, society-wide response is evident. We need to push back against everyone involved, regardless of party affiliation. We need to challenge the powerful and dismantle the structures that support them. A total reset on how government and society functions is needed. We need to make it harder for those in power to disregard the public good. We need a society-wide pushback against Trump.
The world is watching, and they’re not impressed. The US’s leadership has been based on soft power. That soft power has been replaced by belligerence. We need to remove him, Vance and Johnson. The midterms require a total blue wave. Independent investigations into the DOJ, SCOTUS, DOGE, ICE, and Homeland Security are needed. The FBI needs to be reorganized. However, we need to recognize the challenges that this position brings, including the fear of economic hardship.
We must keep in mind that a mass movement is hard to achieve, especially when a percentage of participants support the very fascism being opposed. We need to remove all those that support Trump. The solution may seem simple, but the reality is more complex. This requires a strategy that addresses the underlying problems and unites the opposition. A revolution, while potentially difficult, could be the needed change.
We are in a perilous place. The ultra-wealthy are dismantling our rights. We need a new party. We need a leader, concise goals, and talking points. We need to work toward a peaceful resolution.
