Arizona 5th Graders Plotted Murder, Attempted Suicide Staging: Police

A recent police report details an alleged murder plot involving four fifth-grade students at Legacy Traditional School in Surprise, Arizona, who planned to fatally stab a classmate and stage it as a suicide. The plot was uncovered after a parent alerted the school about the students’ discussions. According to the report, the motive stemmed from a relationship dispute, with the students allegedly planning the attack during a lunch break. The students, aged 10 and 11, were arrested on charges of threatening and disorderly conduct, and were released to their parents with possible expulsion pending.

Suicide by… Stab wound to the stomach? This is where it all starts, isn’t it? It’s the initial, stark question that really sets the stage for the whole disturbing situation. It immediately casts doubt and highlights the sheer implausibility of the scenario these kids allegedly tried to pull off.

The silver lining here is that 5th graders are too stupid to get away with murder. This is a grim truth, but also a somewhat comforting one. It’s almost absurd to imagine them meticulously planning and executing a successful murder. Thankfully, their likely lack of forethought and resources works in their would-be victim’s favor.

The sad part is that they are stupid enough to try, though x.x. The fact that these young children even contemplated such an act is the truly chilling part. It underscores the depths of the problems that might exist, the motivations behind such a horrific plan and the potential for underlying issues like severe emotional distress, psychological problems or even, as some suggest, a complete lack of empathy.

“Three students and their families showed remorse and the students apologized, according to the report. A fourth student and her parent did not appear to be fazed and the student “would smile and laugh and made excuses for the actions,” the report said.”  This detail is absolutely horrifying. The stark contrast between the remorseful families and the one where a child is allegedly smiling and making excuses speaks volumes. It suggests a disturbing lack of understanding, empathy, and perhaps even a concerning home environment that may have contributed to such behavior. Absolute family of sociopaths, indeed.

One of the accused students, a girl, was allegedly in a “relationship” with the victim who had cheated on her, according to the Surprise Police Department. *Through the investigation, it was found that one of the accused students, a girl, was allegedly in a “relationship” with the victim, a boy, who had cheated on her, according to the report. The girl hated him and wanted him dead, the report said.* The whole “cheating” aspect at such a young age seems surreal. It’s a sad reflection of how quickly children seem to be exposed to the complexities and, yes, sometimes ugliness of adult relationships, even at a very young age. It points to a level of emotional intensity, and perhaps a warped sense of “right and wrong”, that is deeply troubling for kids so young.

10 year olds with adult-pattern behavior… “cheated on her” at 10. wow From fucking fifth graders, what the hell? Ok! Enough social media for today. This brings up a common sentiment – a concern about what kids are exposed to at such an early age. It’s natural to wonder if social media, the internet, and the media in general are playing a role in desensitizing children and accelerating their exposure to complex and potentially harmful content.

As a former middle school teacher, I am thankful to the student who overheard and reported it. Thankful to their parents who actually listened to her story. Glad to see SRO, LEOs and school officials took this situation seriously. The importance of a responsible adult stepping in at any stage cannot be overstated. It highlights the vital role of educators, and the value of a supportive home environment where children feel comfortable sharing their concerns.

Yes, 5th graders don’t fully understand consequences and are very susceptible to peer pressure. Hopefully all these children will receive therapy to better understand what is the thoughts behind such ideas. If see or hear something, say something. The fact that these children may not fully understand the consequences is a frightening thought. The need for professional help is clear, not just for the children involved in the plot, but also for any potential witnesses or those that may have enabled the behavior in any fashion. It is also a time for parents to be vigilant, and a reminder to all, if you see something, say something.

Adult mental health issues have been tied back to a childhood trait like cutting themselves, harming animals, fascination with fire, etc. if one of those girls was starting to show in their ideas of such hatred, stabbing and suicide of another child setup mental health problems, I hope they receive a new pathway to a better life. This is a crucial point. We have to consider the potential long-term implications of this. Early intervention is essential to helping these kids and preventing future issues.

Wow! Nah that girl who was laughing about the whole thing needs to be monitored at all times. That’s fucking crazy. The reaction of the one child, as mentioned earlier, just throws the whole thing into a more worrying perspective. It’s a stark reminder of how drastically different each of these kids may be struggling, and the need for focused attention.

When I was in the 5th grade all I wanted to do was play my PS2. Guess the gaming wasn’t so bad after all, huh? It’s a stark contrast of childhood experiences of just a generation ago.

In 5th grade I was watching Hollywood Undead music videos thinking it was absolutely wild… Future serial killer type stuff, how very advanced and horrible. The observation here that, while it might be alarming, at least wasn’t acted on, illustrates an important difference.

Big yikes on that fourth family… This sums it up perfectly. The lack of empathy and remorse from the fourth student and her parent is chilling.

Send them to prison and educate them on how to be a decent human being. 5TH GRADERS?!?!??! The calls for punishment are understandable, however, the question of what kind of punishment would be appropriate, and what kind of help these kids might need to not turn into more dangerous individuals is a consideration.

Reminds me of that story of the 4th grader that tried to hang a 2nd grade boy in the bathroom. This brings to mind the potential for a disturbing trend, perhaps something more than just individual incidents. The concern that this is indicative of something larger is a valid worry.

The internet is ruining your kids, people!!! Get them the fuck offline!!!! The parents should be charged and the kid gotten some help. Ok clearly so many people failed these kids when raising them. Jesus Christ 10 and 11 year olds. This brings up the influence of social media and the internet. It’s a common concern and a possible factor in all of this. The need for parental involvement and oversight is crucial.

i hate to say it, but i really think kids need to stay off of social media, and have dumb phones until they are in highschool. A general call for changes in how children engage with the world and the internet, is echoed throughout.

i dont know what to do. 5th graders…5th…5…their solution was to end a life ? The sheer incomprehensibility of the situation is the overriding emotion.

my god….how much have these younglings been desensitized .. The level of desensitization is a recurring theme and a legitimate concern.

Tell me about the parents. Who would have thought that the current generation of breeders not parents, breeders) would create another generation of amoral sociopaths. This, of course, points to a breakdown in the traditional family structure, a lack of parental guidance or the failure of our education system.

How does a 5th grade cheat on another 5th grader? 10 year olds, plotting murder, what a society… It’s a sad reflection of the world we live in.

Wtf is wrong with humans these days…. This expresses a very common sentiment of frustration, even outrage, at what’s happening.

I hate how schools companies colleges any private or public entity has their own investigation these days without ever calling the cops. It is shameful and stupid. This highlights the importance of the proper involvement of law enforcement.

Especially sexual ones. Yes they got involved later, but that’s so dumb. Why isn’t the first thing done. This highlights the significance of law enforcement, and questions why they weren’t the first ones on scene.

Not all children are sweet little innocent things. 10 years old and you wake up, think about what would be fun or exciting… “Oh, let’s murder a kid and see if we can say it was a suicide!” This is a harsh but necessary reminder that, at times, children are capable of terrible actions.

If your 10 year old, or you, or anyone thinks this; thats truly another level of “God Damn OMFG WTF Seriously For Real, Like really, really? Why?” It’s a genuine expression of disbelief at the situation.

Kids are way more serious with shit than when I was young. I’m old. The changes in children’s behavior and thinking in the last decades.

My daughter got tired of the “let’s ditch so-and-so” game and found new friends. It was a relief for all of us. This points to the normal social challenges children face.

Evidently there’s a lot more drama today. I don’t recognize the world anymore. The level of drama may have increased, in part by the impact of social media.

I like the idea of a “Surprise Police Department”. Typical Zonie behavior. A brief and humorous comment about the location of the incident, reflecting a stereotype.

Do NOT let those kids back into society. The thought that these kids are still dangerous, and the need for rehabilitation.

How did I know this had to be Maricopa county? Something is seriously wrong there.  Wtf is wrong with US teens? Are these kids being neglected by their parents or actually abusing them? The US sure does come up with a lot of fucked up stuff. It’s a question about the causes of violent behaviors.

At least the kid couldn’t get their hands on a gun. Remember when we thought the children were the future? This brings a point of relief, but also highlights the need to safeguard against future actions.

Talk about r/agedlikemilk. A humorous comment.

I bet their parents are MAGA. An unsubstantiated political assumption.

What is a “Traditional School”? A question about the types of schools and the culture within them.

I have an uneasy feeling that term may have had something to do with the student attitudes, based on what I was told about older schools. A hint of possible causes.

In 5th grade all i wanted to do was play video games. Isn’t this what Trump did to Epstein? An off-topic comparison.

Life in prison. Right to juvi then to adult prison at 18. The question of appropriate punishment.

These are middle schoolers they say shit they can’t follow up trough all the time . A reminder that the reality of actions may not meet the reality of words.

And most of the time they don’t have the courage to follow trough and give up at first second third fourth fifth……. Last step etc. A point about the actions of these children.

So I think the police is being suspicious. A point about the actions of the police.

It would be violent 5th graders to think staging samurai seppuku would work. The point that it wouldn’t work.

I mean, more obvious murders have been ruled suicides before so, who knows? A reminder of a reality in which many cases are difficult to find the truth.

So… apparently some cops out there are willing to consider suicide by stab wounds to the abdomen. A final commentary, expressing disbelief.
