Over 7,000 students see their lunch debts wiped after $1 million donation

Over 7,000 students in Georgia have been granted a sigh of relief as Arby’s Foundation stepped in to wipe out their lunch debts with a generous $1 million donation. While it’s heartwarming to see this situation resolved, it is deeply distressing that such a problem exists in the first place. As someone who has worked in education for years, I strongly believe that “lunch debt” should never be a thing.

The concept of children being penalized for their parents’ inability to pay for their lunches is nothing short of insane. These kids are at school because they have to be, and it is our responsibility to ensure that they are properly fed so they can learn and thrive.… Continue reading

Habba’s closing ‘did the seemingly impossible’ and made Trump’s ‘position worse’: expert

Habba’s closing argument in the E. Jean Carroll case has, according to experts, done the seemingly impossible by making Trump’s position even worse. This latest development in the ongoing legal battle has left many questioning the intelligence and competence of both Habba and her client.

Throughout the trial, Habba repeatedly made controversial statements, including claiming that Carroll, who is an assault and rape victim, should consider herself lucky and be grateful for the abuse she suffered because it made her more famous. Such appalling remarks demonstrate a shocking lack of empathy and understanding, particularly towards those who have experienced such trauma.… Continue reading

Texas Superintendent Defends Suspending Black Student Over Locs Hairstyle in Full-Page Ad: ‘Being American Requires Conformity’

Texas Superintendent Defends Suspending Black Student Over Locs Hairstyle in Full-Page Ad: ‘Being American Requires Conformity’

When I first read about the Texas Superintendent defending the suspension of a Black student over their locs hairstyle, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger and frustration. The very idea that someone’s hair could warrant such extreme disciplinary measures is not only absurd but deeply rooted in racism and prejudice. This incident perfectly encapsulates the systemic issues that continue to plague our society, where conformity is demanded, and individuality is scorned.

In the midst of a country that prides itself on rugged individualism, it seems that some individuals conveniently change their tune when it comes to enforcing their oppressive beliefs.… Continue reading

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for ‘national divorce’ between red and blue states amid Texas border standoff over migration

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent call for a “national divorce” between red and blue states amid the Texas border standoff over migration has attracted attention and sparked controversy. As a concerned citizen, I find it alarming that a sitting Congresswoman would openly advocate for a civil war, and even more concerning that she retains her seat despite such statements.

While Greene may believe that such a separation would be a solution for conservatives, the reality is that it would only lead to further division and strife. The red states she believes would form a united front would likely Balkanize within months, as internal conflicts and disagreements arise.… Continue reading

We Are Normalizing Trump. Again.

We Are Normalizing Trump. Again.

As a liberal voter in Vermont who voted for Biden and will do so again, I have never once “normalized” Trump. It’s appalled me to see the media continuously give him a platform, even after his presidency ended. The media has been whoring themselves to this idiot since 2015, and they are doing it again.

When I read the headline “We Are Normalizing Trump. Again.”, I asked myself who this “we” is. Is it the general public? Is it the journalists? It’s clear from the comments that many people are frustrated with the media’s obsession with Trump.… Continue reading

Top UN court says it won’t throw out genocide case against Israel as it issues a preliminary ruling

The recent ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the genocide case against Israel has sparked considerable controversy and debate. As a concerned individual, I have closely followed the developments surrounding this case, and I believe it is crucial to reflect on the implications of the preliminary ruling.

To begin, it is essential to clarify what the ICJ ruling does and does not mean. Contrary to some misleading headlines, the court did not declare that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Rather, it acknowledged that some actions and omissions alleged by South Africa could potentially fall under the provisions of the Genocide Convention.… Continue reading

Vince McMahon Accused of Sex Trafficking by WWE Staffer He Paid to Keep Quiet

Vince McMahon Accused of Sex Trafficking by WWE Staffer He Paid to Keep Quiet

What the fuck is wrong with Mr. McMahon? Wow. I hadn’t seen any recent pictures of Vince McMahon until that article. He looks … sinister. The details of the lawsuit filed against him are absolutely horrifying. This is not something that should be taken lightly or brushed off as just another scandal in the entertainment industry.

According to the lawsuit, McMahon allegedly abused and sexually exploited a former WWE employee named Janel Grant. She claimed that McMahon lured her into a relationship with promises of career advancement, only to exploit her and traffic her to other men within the company.… Continue reading

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott releases statement outlining states’ rights to constitutional self-defense when dealing with a “lawless president”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott recently released a statement outlining states’ rights to constitutional self-defense when dealing with a “lawless president.” As a Texan and a loyal American, this statement has left me both deeply concerned and frustrated. It seems that Abbott is using this issue as a political ploy, rather than genuinely addressing the challenges at hand.

First and foremost, it is important to acknowledge that immigration is a complex issue that affects numerous states, not just Texas. So, why is Abbott the only governor making such a fuss? Migrants cross into New Mexico, Arizona, and California as well, yet they are not engaging in the same level of theatrics.… Continue reading

Chair of Arizona Republican Party Resigns after Leak Reveals Alleged Bribe

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Another day, another scandal rocking the political world. This time it’s the Chair of the Arizona Republican Party, Jeff DeWit, who has found himself in hot water after a leaked audio recording exposed an alleged bribe. According to the Daily Mail, DeWit was captured on tape telling Kari Lake, a Senate race candidate, that “there are very powerful people who want to keep you out” and that “they’re willing to put their money where their mouth is, in a big way.”

Now, I must say, I’m not entirely surprised by this revelation.… Continue reading

Ukraine: Hack wiped 2 petabytes of data from Russian research center

Ukraine: Hack wiped 2 petabytes of data from Russian research center

As a scientist, I am utterly shocked and dismayed by the recent news of the hack that wiped 2 petabytes of data from the Russian research center, Planeta. This is an enormous loss, not only for Russia but for humanity as a whole. Planeta is a state research center that provides essential information and accurate predictions about weather, climate, natural disasters, extreme phenomena, and volcanic monitoring. The data they collect and analyze is crucial for scientists worldwide in understanding and improving our knowledge of the Earth’s climate system.

To put the scale of this loss into perspective, wiping 2 petabytes of data is equivalent to deleting approximately 60,000 hours of 4K video.… Continue reading
