While Ukraine desires a just resolution to the war with Russia, a hasty ceasefire or peace deal would be detrimental to our country. A rushed agreement would resemble the situation in 2014, where a ceasefire led to the loss of Crimea and ultimately, the full-scale invasion. Additionally, we’ve observed that without increased pressure on North Korea’s involvement, their troop presence in the conflict could escalate. Therefore, strong international action is crucial to ensure a favorable outcome for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy has firmly rejected Trump’s proposal for a rapid peace deal in the Ukraine war, calling it a recipe for disaster. He argues that conceding territory to Russia would only embolden the aggressor, leading to further attacks and a future where Ukraine faces perpetual instability.

Some believe Trump’s plan is not genuinely focused on peace, but rather an attempt to benefit Russia and his own interests. Not only would Ukraine face a bleak future, but the consequences would reverberate throughout the world, eroding trust in alliances and encouraging further aggression.
