President-elect Trump’s nomination of Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence is deeply concerning, as her views on China, Russia, and Syria align with those of our adversaries. Gabbard’s record shows a willingness to blame the United States for the actions of hostile powers and disregard their threats to our national security. This nomination, if approved, would place a person with ideological sympathy for our adversaries in control of America’s intelligence community, jeopardizing our national security. The Senate must prioritize the nation’s safety and reject this nomination.

The Senate GOP must stop Tulsi Gabbard from gaining access to sensitive intelligence information. Her nomination to a position of power within the intelligence community is a serious threat to national security. The Washington Examiner, not exactly known for its liberal leanings, has even voiced concerns. It is clear that Gabbard has a history of promoting narratives that align with Russian and Chinese propaganda.
Gabbard has consistently downplayed the threat posed by Russia, even going so far as to blame NATO for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. She has also echoed Russian disinformation about supposed secret bioweapons labs in Ukraine. Her stances on Syria are similarly troubling, echoing the propaganda of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Gabbard has even gone so far as to express sympathy for Assad’s leadership, despite his brutal suppression of his own people.
These actions raise serious concerns about Gabbard’s judgment and her suitability for a position of trust within the intelligence community. Her potential access to sensitive information could put the United States at risk. She has proven herself to be a willing mouthpiece for foreign powers, and her appointment would be a grave error.
The GOP must recognize the danger posed by Gabbard’s nomination and act to prevent her from gaining access to the intelligence castle. Ignoring this threat would be a grave betrayal of their duty to protect the United States.
The GOP’s failure to act would send a dangerous message to the world. It would signal that the United States is willing to tolerate the infiltration of its intelligence apparatus by foreign agents. It would undermine confidence in American institutions and make the country more vulnerable to threats.
The stakes are high. The GOP must choose between the interests of the United States and the desires of a single individual. The choice should be obvious. Gabbard must be stopped.
