The fact that this farmer showed no remorse and proudly proclaimed that he would do it again is nothing short of monstrous. How could someone value fruit over a human life, especially that of a young child? The boy now faces the possibility of living with disabilities for years to come, all because of a senseless act of violence.
What baffles me even more is the racial dynamics at play in South Africa. The farmer, who is white, targeted a young black boy and his mother in a display of unprovoked and unfounded aggression. It is evident that underlying racism and hatred played a significant role in this despicable incident. The fact that the farmer felt justified in his actions and saw no issue with trying to kill a child over a trivial matter is beyond comprehension.
The lack of empathy and remorse displayed by the farmer is deeply troubling.
