As a resident of California, I recently found out that Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law banning all plastic shopping bags at grocery stores. This news did not come as a complete surprise, as similar bans have been implemented in various other states and countries over the years. While I do my best to use reusable bags whenever I can remember to bring them, the issue of plastic packaging on grocery items runs much deeper than just the shopping bags themselves.

I watched the recently released NYPD bodycam footage of the police shooting incident at the Brooklyn subway platform, and my mind is filled with a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts. The video shows two officers opening fire, resulting in the injury of multiple people, including innocent bystanders, all stemming from an individual brandishing a knife. As I watched the events unfold, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disbelief and shock at the level of escalation that took place.

The recent incident involving a MAGA Sheriff’s post about Harris yard signs getting his department booted from election duties is truly disheartening. I can’t contain my excitement at the news that a judge is set to approve auctions liquidating Alex Jones’ Infowars to help pay the Sandy Hook families. It’s about time that justice catches up to someone like Jones, who has shamelessly exploited and profited off of people’s vulnerabilities and tragedies. The fact that Erica Lafferty has had to struggle to pay for cancer treatment while Jones flaunted his wealth is simply infuriating.
