She outsmarted him, outshined him, and left him floundering with no substantive responses. It was clear for all to see that Trump’s whole strongman image crumbled before our very eyes on that stage.
For years, Trump has peddled this facade of dominance and strength, but in reality, he is nothing more than a blustering bully who thrives on fear-mongering and lies. It’s almost comical to see how easily he can be shaken down when faced with someone who is smarter, stronger, and more prepared – like Kamala Harris. She demonstrated that he is no match for her force of personality, backed up by facts and policies. The Republicans are struggling to maintain their illusion of Trump as a strong man now that Harris has shown that she can bang a table louder and have the truth on her side.
It’s about time that the Democrats realized that to combat a bully, you have to fight back head-on. The whole “They go low, we go high” approach only works when the other side is not shameless and ruthless. The psychological tactic of hitting Trump where it hurts most is proving to be effective, and I have no doubt that Harris will continue to target his vulnerabilities as we approach election day.
The events of January 6th and the subsequent fallout have shown us all the true colors of Trump and his cult. They are not strong, they are not dominant – they are cowards who will do anything to cling to power. We must not rest on our laurels but instead be prepared for the chaos that could ensue if Trump loses in 2024. The Republicans’ weakness is truth and accountability, and we must continue to expose their lies and deceit at every turn.
