It’s a god damn war. Let Ukraine hit Russia. It’s ridiculous that they can’t hit airfields that are constantly hitting them, logistics yards that are supplying troops at the front. This policy is insane. How do people really expect Ukraine to get anywhere if they can’t hit Russian targets in Russia with real weapons? There should be zero restrictions on weapons used by Ukraine. Moscow gets to hit Kyiv regularly. Kyiv should be able to hit Moscow and anywhere else they need to, to get Russia back on their side of the border.

Given Ukraine is effectively fighting with one hand tied behind its back, it’s astonishing and embarrassing for Russia that it is doing so poorly in this war. Neutralize 🚫 Disintegrate ✅ Of course, they’re at war, not allowing them to do this is forcing them to fight with one arm tied behind their back.

Ok, can someone please explain like I’m five why Ukraine needs anyone’s permission to attack Russian forces? Macron is 100% correct. The Europeans have been hiding for far too long from confronting the difficult realities facing them. In a shameful replay of pre-WW2 events, EU leaders are looking for any reason to placate and kowtow to the demands of tyrants rather than standing up early and preventing greater tragedies later on. Macron is right.

I don’t say that often, but for the EU to become stronger, it must go beyond economic cooperation and build strong protections for the smaller, more vulnerable nations. Fuck Putin. I think that just like in the years leading to WW1, when the powers that be felt that war was impossible, as it would risk the mercantile economy those same said powers had established. It was the last thing they wanted, until Belgium’s neutrality was violated, then it became worth the cost.

We even tried appeasement in WW2 and found that didn’t work. This time the economy (pre-pandemic) since the end of the cold war, seemed again like all the reason in the world that Europe wouldn’t experience war again. So they slow-walked it again but with the same possible all-in involvement as before in order to end an existential threat to their security. Macron (France is no military push-over even on its own) is letting Russia understand this. Let them hit the Kremlin, you cowards. Who’s the one giving the order? What would happen if let’s say a missile from Sweden just happened to accidentally go a few hundred miles off course? Special inaccuracy operation!? “Level” Yeah Vive la France, Slava Ukraine.

Absolutely. I’m getting a weird feeling like the West is making things artificially more difficult for no reason? In a perfect world, Ukraine most likely isn’t going to have an outright “win” in the war. I wonder what the hell they are thinking. UK: Ukraine can hit Russia with weapons provided by us! France: Ukraine should be allowed to hit Russia with weapons provided by us! And yet the Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles, provided by UK and France, only end up landing in Crimea and other Ukrainian territories, not Russia. I’d really like an explanation for that.

They are fighting for their existence. They can do whatever it takes. Ukraine should be allowed to assassinate Putin and flatten Moscow, given what Russia is doing to them. Putin won’t use nukes unless missiles start raining on Moscow. NATO should support the use of its weapons and ammo on Russian soil within 200 miles of the border. This shit never ends unless Russia gets to taste the same shit they like to fling at others. Warheads to foreheads. Long overdue.

Ukraine must be allowed to eliminate Russian military bases on Russian soil to defend its sovereignty and halt the brutal, unprovoked aggression that threatens its very existence. Why should Ukraine be forced to fight with one arm tied behind its back? Its getting spicy. Do we finally have a new leader in Europe? This doesn’t make any sense anymore. It’s war, I’m picking civilian targets at this point. Fuck off with that namby-pamby bullshit. As an American, I agree with President Macron.

I hate to comment multiple times on this subject, but lately, it’s just been on my mind. Why is an aggressor allowed to do what it wants, while the defending nation can’t counter-attack the same? No other large nation would be okay with this, but since it’s Ukraine receiving Western weapons, they’re supposed to just get steamrolled in their own nation with no recourse? Europe and “The West” are letting Putin dictate their lives and this will backfire on Europe entirely when Russia eventually genocides a people and no one was brave enough to stand up to them due to fear of nukes. Europe has gone soft, and Putin knows that. He knows that people have gotten too comfortable living their subsidized socialist lives and that no one is prepared for another maniac dictator to reignite conflicts in Europe.

France has ballistic missiles. France has not given ballistic missiles to Ukraine. Nothing is stopping France from giving ballistic missiles to Ukraine. Make all Russians outside of the pre-91 borders outlanders. Rip up their passports, empty their accounts, dissolve their companies, and donate their property to a fund for Ukrainian efforts. Grab and hold hostage anybody worth a shit from that once colony of the Mongols. Any westerner still in Russia had ample opportunity to get out. Any corporation still doing business over there should be seized and dissolved anyway. Any country helping them get around sanctions should be given six months to give their profits to Ukraine or be considered a hostile enemy too.

Then we should shut down the skies, sink their fleets, and start pounding every single Russian asset outside of their pre-91 borders. All this could be stopped, of course, if the Russians merely turn Putin and his cronies over to the Ukrainians for justice and agree to three generations of management and derussification. The Russian people have been brought up after centuries of autocracy from their days as a Mongol vassal state, the Tsars, the communists, etc. They are allergic to freedom and the rule of law. The Russian people need to be broken and brought to heel.

I’m okay with this: France and Poland are the tip of NATO’s ground force spear when it comes to Russia. They are the ones who will take the biggest hit until the UK, US, Spain, and Turkey can get rolling. And neither France nor Poland are lightweights. They are formidable even compared to the US. Agreed. Fuck Mother Russia. Of course, they should. Russia attacked them without provocation, Ukraine should be marching on Moscow and we, along with all of Europe, should be right there with them. absolutely. The French are stepping up. Wish America would be as proactive as them. I really wonder why Biden and Blinken are hesitating. Ukraine needs the world to help. Russia knows our current limits and is implementing a strategy around it.

I remember how when the Allies got to the German border in WW2 they just stood back and kept a defensive line…. Oh no, shit, sorry, we broke into Germany, kicked the shit out of the military and capitulated Berlin. The fact that rule existed in the first place is pure insanity. I’m sure Russian generals themselves scratched their heads over this one. It’s time for the gloves to come off. If not, Ukraine will not win. Allowing Ukraine no silly restrictions is necessary for this war to end in something other than a Russian successful annexation. If Ukraine can’t attack, Russia will be able to sustain this illegal invasion for 100 years.

In any war, with one side that has restrictions and the other side following no restrictions, the side with no restrictions will win virtually any and every time. While Macron may be stirring the pot a bit much these days, I definitely agree that any Russian base responsible for directly supporting and/or shelling Ukrainian positions is fair game. You can’t stop an everyday artillery barrage with hopes and prayers. That’s a fancy way of saying “bomb the fuck out of”. But yes, it’s a war, let’s stop being so squeamish about it and pressuring Ukraine to pull their punches.

I’m confused. What’s stopping them? Has anyone on Ukraine’s side said “No, you can’t hit Russian military targets”? Am I out of the loop? Ukraine can do whatever it wants if it’s about to die to Russia. Also, if Ukraine sees Russia gathering troops at the border, preparing for a new assault, they can’t hit them even if they are in range. They need to wait for the troops to enter Ukraine. Exactly. Russia is just leisurely resupplying, and reinforcing troops 40 miles behind the border. Punish them, turn those bases into ash, and make the Russians instead trek 1,000 miles to safely get to the front. The West can’t be a pushover anymore. Authoritarians have pushed the narrative that we are for decades now. It’s time to prove that liberal democracies when standing together are strong, and can more than handle themselves in a fight. The world needs to quit pretending that Russia is scary and like some impossible final boss, and stand up to the bully once and for all.
