This is a classic move by narcissists, draining their victims of every resource they have. Trump started by love-bombing his base, pretending to care about them unconditionally, and now he’s ready to bankrupt the whole Republican National Committee (RNC).
The question that comes to mind is, why does a billionaire like Trump need to beg for a few hundred million? The answer is simple – he wants to ensure that he can pay his legal bills and maintain his lavish lifestyle. But what about the RNC? What will happen to their funds if Trump gets his way?
Lara Trump, the person Trump wants to put in charge of the RNC, has made it clear that she will ensure Trump gets access to all the money from Republican donors. This means that the RNC will be left with nothing, just like every other Trump project that ends in bankruptcy. It’s a clear path to drain the resources from down-ballot GOP candidates, causing them to lose more county, city, state, House, and Senate races.
Lindsey Graham’s prediction from seven years ago seems to be becoming more and more true with each passing year. He warned that if the Republicans nominated Trump, they would get destroyed, and they would deserve it. Well, it’s happening right before our eyes, and as much as it may pain some Republicans, it’s hard not to root for Trump to achieve what he wants – to bankrupt the entire party.
Everything Trump touches turns to shit, pardon my language. And now, it might just be the GOP’s turn to suffer the consequences of their Faustian deal. If Trump manages to drain the RNC’s funds and is then convicted, losing in a big blue tidal wave, he will drag countless Republican candidates down with him. They won’t even have enough resources to put up credible campaigns. The exhausted GOP coffers and their unwavering loyalty to a man despised by so many will be their downfall.
So, what can Republicans do to avoid this impending disaster? The answer is simple – they need to cut ties with Trump. They must stop propping him up in the media, doing his bidding in Congress, and defending his criminal activity. He is currently a private citizen with no real power, except for what the Republican party grants him. If they stop listening to him and giving him money, he will essentially cease to exist.
But here lies the problem – the Republican party will never do that. Trump represents their end goal in government, to be heartless, ruthless, and power-hungry in order to benefit themselves. He is the embodiment of the Republican party’s id. And maybe, just maybe, it would be a blessing in disguise if Trump ends up destroying the GOP and ushers in a new progressive era. They made their bed, now they have to lie in it.
The fear among Republicans is not unfounded; it is a fact. Trump and his family will undoubtedly use the RNC’s funds to pay their legal bills and even indulge in personal luxuries. We’ve seen this pattern before – Trump will host a lavish conference at Mar-a-Lago, “get it ready” using RNC funds, charge exorbitant attendance fees, and call it a fundraiser. It’s pure exploitation, just like everything else Trump does.
It’s frustrating to witness the elderly, like my best work buddy’s mother, being manipulated into giving their hard-earned money to Trump. They genuinely believe that he needs their help, despite him claiming to be a billionaire who can pay for his own campaign and legal bills. It’s a sad reality and a testament to the power of manipulation and fear.
In the end, the GOP only has themselves to blame. They could have foreseen this and avoided it altogether. Trump has a history of bankruptcies and leaving others to foot the bill. It was a grave mistake for the party to align themselves with him in the first place. Now, they are facing the consequences of their own choices.
The Republican party is experiencing its own “leopardatemyface” moment. They are adding the RNC to the list of organizations that Trump has bankrupted. It’s almost poetic justice when you think about it. Trump is like an elephant’s foot, leaving destruction in his wake. This should serve as a lesson for all of us – if someone fails the social Geiger test, we should never consider them for an electable position.
It’s time for a reckoning within the GOP. They wanted a king, and now they have one. They are witnessing the destruction of their party from within, just as Mitch McConnell predicted. It’s a harsh reminder that when you create a monster, it can turn around and destroy you.
At the end of the day, Trump’s draining of the RNC’s funds was inevitable. It was never a question of if, but rather when. And now, Republicans are forced to confront the monster they helped create.
