I mean, saying that Black people love sneakers so much that they would vote for a candidate based on a sneaker line is not only disrespectful but also incredibly ignorant. It feels like these kinds of comments are not only dismissive of the complexity of the Black community but also perpetuate harmful stereotypes.
The idea that Black people would relate to Trump because he has “street cred” from being arrested is equally appalling. It reduces an entire community to a simplistic and offensive caricature, completely ignoring the diverse range of views and experiences within the Black population. It’s as if these individuals have no understanding or respect for the struggles and challenges that many Black people face on a daily basis.
Equally troubling is the suggestion that Trump’s sneakers would somehow appeal to Black voters. The assumption that all Black individuals are interested in flashy, gold sneakers is not only insulting but also reflects a deep-seated racism that is still pervasive in our society. It’s as if these individuals are so disconnected from reality that they resort to absurd and offensive stereotypes to try to make a point.
