Well, well, well, it seems like Orbán has done a complete 180-degree turn in his stance on Sweden’s NATO bid. This guy really knows how to overplay a weak hand. First, he tries to negotiate the terms of accession with Sweden, and they tell him to “fuck off.” And then, miraculously, he does a U-turn and supports their bid. What a dipshit. I can’t believe this absolute abhorrent human being still holds power.
Honestly, this scum doesn’t deserve a cent from the EU. He should be stripped of his voting rights and maybe even booted out of the EU altogether. It’s a total clownshow, and it would be hilarious if it weren’t so incredibly sad. And to think that he’s going to be handed the gavel and EU presidency in 2024 is just mind-boggling.

Orbán is a volatile man, and who knows what his true intentions are. Perhaps he’s just playing nice now because the EU is threatening to strip Hungary’s voting rights. Now, let’s talk about Russia and Putin’s ultimate goal of re-establishing the full map of the Soviet Union. As someone who grew up in Moscow and spent half of my life in the USA, I’ve studied this extensively, and the picture is clear to me. Putin wants to undo the dissolution of the Soviet Union by legally signing it with the heads of Belarus and Ukraine. He needs Ukraine and a puppet head of state to make it seem “official” and “legal.”
Once he has control over the former Soviet republics in Central Asia, Putin will directly attack NATO by claiming that the Baltic member states belonged to Russia all along. He’s playing the long game, and we need to be wary of Orban’s true allegiance. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in Putin’s pocket.
But let’s not forget that Russia doesn’t actually care about NATO. Their saber-rattling is mostly for internal consumption. They know that Sweden already has defense pacts with the UK and the US, so they don’t really care if Sweden joins NATO. It’s all just a game to them.
And as for Orban, his sudden U-turn on Sweden’s NATO bid is not surprising. He overplayed his hand, had nothing to stand on, and now he’s just trying to save face. He wanted to block Sweden’s bid, but he failed. And now, he’s pretending that was his plan all along. Classic Orban.
